Hello I installed the new Poeteus 5 KDE in my computer, all hardwares recognized but no sound.

I checked the /usr/share/alsa/ucm2 and in there have the folder that correspond to my driver chtmax98090 and inside this folder has the files Hifi.conf and chtmax98080.conf

Also I checked the foler /usr/share/alsa/ucm2/codecs and there have all files: EnableSeq.conf, Headphones.conf, HeadsetMic.conf, InternalMic.conf and Speaker.conf.

After seach in Google I go to /usr/share/alsa/pcm/ and dive a cat in default.conf and there is no seted audio driver

But in Configuration -> audio is empty

How can I activate the audio.

Thanks

Hi lakesidepark.
Can you try to update kernel to Porteus Kernel Builder (Пост Blaze #94925) and test it.

Not bad if you share this log. Open terminal and run

Code: Select all

dmesg | egrep -i 'sound|fail|error|warn|found|hda|audio|snd|realtek|firmware|ucm|pcm|alsa|codec|chtmax'

hi, if you install inxi from slackware repos and use like this:dmesg is ok but is too generic
bash-5.2# inxi -A
Audio:
Device-1: AMD SBx00 Azalia driver: snd_hda_intel
Device-2: NVIDIA GK107 HDMI Audio driver: snd_hda_intel
API: ALSA v: k6.1.42-beny status: kernel-api
Server-1: PulseAudio v: 16.1 status: active
bash-5.2#

Download the deb file, in terminal run the command deb2xzm for the file to create a xzm version, on your Porteus drive add the xzm file to the /porteus/modules folder. When you boot the fix should be activated and sound should work.

Yes and you're not running the command on beny's machine. Run the inxi -A command on your machine and post what it shows.

lakesidepark, you can click right mouse button on the deb or rpm package and convert it to xzm (password for root is toor)
Anyway you can dowload and activate this module firmware-intel-sound-20210315-noarch.xzm
