Hardware acceleration, the 08-nvidia module

Hardware acceleration, the 08-nvidia module

The module has the name nvidia
https://github.com/porteux/
says
"Hardware acceleration will be activated by default for machines with Intel, AMD or Nvidia cards (external Nvidia driver required and available on the app store)"
Does that mean the module also works for Intel and AMD?
My laptop has AMD.

There is a huge difference in size
08-nvidia-470.129.06-k.5.18.8-porteus-v5.0-x86_64.xzm = 214,1 MiB
08-nvidia-525.85.05-k.6.2.11-porteux-x86_64.xzm = 428,9 MiB
twice as big!

I tried porteuX with nvidia module:
The boot time (with nvidia module) is significantly longer!

So I removed the nvidia module again
How can I test if I really need it?

Thanks

The Nvidia driver/module is for Nvidia cards only. And even with a Nvidia card you won't need the proprietary drivers if you don't need performance or hardware video acceleration because mesa drivers (already included in both Porteus and PorteuX) can handle the basics quite well.

Intel and AMD will have hardware video acceleration out of the box (no extra module is required).
