PorteuX moving fast

Just about finished testing PorteuX 0.3 'n I see that PorteuX 0.4 is now out. Is there a way to upgrade to 0.4 from 0.3 or do I just move on to PorteuX 0.4? πŸ™‚πŸ‘

Yeah, I stayed wid ext4. Gnome Disk Utility works now (in 0.4), but Nvidia driver stopped working. I can do w/o out the Nvidia driver, but use the Disks utility a lot – will stick wid 0.4. All my other modules worked... πŸ‘πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘

@Karmi, if PorteuX 0.3 kernel (6.2.11) is working for you, you can update just the base modules to 0.4: 001-core, 002-xorg, 002-xtra and 003-xxx (your desktop environment).

The fact that the Nvidia driver stopped working I'm assuming it is because you're using the new PorteuX 0.4 kernel (6.3.3) with the old Nvidia driver from PorteuX 0.3, and that's the expected result. Can you confirm, please?

Yes - confirmed on the 0.4 kernel. Also using the Cinnamon module which can cause minor issues. I've tries 0.3 kde, gnome, & mate currents & stable wid no real problems. Have used xfce 4.12 stable for the Cinnamon tests. No Nvidia issue until 0.4 & Cinnamon tests.

Do you have the problem in straight AF mode and AF mode with the Cinnamon DE?

@Karmi, if the problem only happens when mixing the new kernel with the old Nvidia driver, why don't you just update the Nvidia driver from the app store? It should work.

And I'm not sure how you're booting, but you don't need any PorteuX DE if you're using Porteus 5 Cinnamon.

OK β€” App Store's new 530.41.03 Nvidia driver fixed the problem! πŸ‘πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘πŸ™‚ Gotta love that PorteuX App Store! Gnome Disk Utility works also. πŸ‘Œ Using the 003 Cinnamon & 009 comparability modules and everything looking 'n working great!!! (UPDATE: using porteux-v0.4-xfce-4.12-stable-x86_64)

Thanks porteux!
