To get thunar to recognize and mount android phone files. Searching the net will just get you very confused. An example not to be followed:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/854332/ ... x-with-usb
But rather the very well documented arch wiki:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fi ... ctionality
The Gnome virtual filesystem (gvfs) provides mounting and trash functionality. GVFS uses udisks2 for mounting functionality and is the recommended solution for most file managers.

1.0 Install gvfs 64 bit with txz2xzm and activate:

2.0 Connect with a usb cable your android phone and open your phone, as a locked phone will not appear in thunar.

Alternatively you can install pcmanfm as file manager that provide android file connection natively.

Quite funny. Until I reinstall it, my android phone a moto z2 force would not mount. I have been with that bug since a while. I will retry no changes without all the other modules and come back.

Yeah, here it works out of the box on Porteus 4 and 5-Internal. It's even better than Windows 10, since on Windows 10 it opens an empty File Explorer and then when I select on my cell phone the option to transfer files a new instance of File Explorer opens :%)

In xfce with android phone
Android phone procedure (necessary at each connection):
-connect with a usb cable your android phone to the linux box and open your phone to unlock it for data transfer.
-go into connected devices
-choose file transfer
Linux box xfce file manager:
-device (android phone) should appear
-files will be available when file transfer will be selected on the android phone (android phone procedure)

Note: I do not use the file transfer between my android phone often. The exact procedure is really handy. ;)
