There is a program available on ubuntu available to cast from linux to chromecast:

from this previous link, the information is given for debian and for archlinux. It might be possible to work it out for slackware.

Packages for mkchromecast ubuntu are available here:

these might be use to build mkchromecast with deb2xzm

Finally, I have returned the chromecast gadget. At home we have a supposedly intelligent LG TV which connects to the internet. Has any of you have a method other than mkchromecast to cast from their linux box to their intelligent TV?

....but in Montreal you have lots of snow every winter :D
Porteus is proud of the FASTEST KDE ever made.....(take akonadi, nepomuk and soprano out and you will have a decent OS).
The Porteus Community never sleeps!
