For the first time in a while, a clean run! Now noticed that sbo mirror was indeed being used, so will have to also be included, despite fact only one mirror, but for compleatness.
In light of above update issue (fatal error with slacky) reckon theres's just one more thing to be done, and that is to have a bad mirrors list, and this will be the icing on the cake! 8)
As there can't be too many bad fast mirrors, thought of having them added to command line, but you never know, So as well. following normal convention, will also look at file
.usm/badmirrors.txt, and you takes your picks.
Good idea will do so.

Answer should be none. Can check against the update times. However have updated the end of the preceding (1st Post) of topic.

Learning to take advantage of some bash shortcuts, and the fact that it actualises the command line, thereby allowing tab completion.
Also running out of neutral letters:
Try it! (see how tab completion on second line works

^ The $q and $g seem to be working fine, however line 15 is first line of code after all comments. So suspect bash looking at windoze line ending: Carriage Return, Line Feed (\r\n). and cannot deal with it. So need to put file into unix format: just \n. There are all sorts of utilities for this. See if that will work.
Anyway try this for size
(can't test, bereft of windoze files ):
Code: Select all
source <(tr -d '\15\32' < $g/sesm.sh)

Rapidly becoming bash tutorial taxing my explanatory powers.
Once file's been sourced, we are no longer talking file, but talking memory, would be a simple way to put it.
man.cx/bash wrote:. filename [arguments]
source filename [arguments]
Read and execute commands from filename in the current shell environment and return the exit status of the last command executed from filename.
All the commands in the sourced file
sesm.sh would be executed. In this case ithey consist of function definitions followed by just the one command:
sesm $*.
Simple example of function definition:
Code: Select all
guest@porteus:~$ tst () { echo To be or not to be?; }
guest@porteus:~$ tst
To be or not to be?
guest@porteus:~$ type tst
tst is a function
tst ()

echo To be or not to be?
}

In the same way as explained in above example,
sesm was defined as a function upon sourcing, and is now executed like a command.
