1) Look for and remove spam if possible. If not possible then report it to admin.
2) Always be courteous in your interactions with forum members.
3) Think before you post something that may be deemed as offensive or abrasive.
4) Look for and try to stop (if you feel capable) any offensive behaviour in a thread. If you don't feel capable then report to to admin.
5) Kindly remind users when a thread is getting off topic.

If you are not actively moderating I will remove moderator status in an effort to keep things clean and tidy.

Proactive Intervention request heeded.

Here is what a moderators should be and I didn't even see brokenman list. I sent my list to a member and told I should post it here.

As far as the moderator here is what I think.

1 Delete all spam. (I hate that too)
2 Point out bad or not language.
3 Offtopic
4 Help other if moderator can.
5 Try and stop problem between 2 or more member.
6 And let brokenman work on the release he don't have time for this.

But not change the forum the they want it to be. I hate that more then anything. What else I don't but they do it is TEXT they can TEXT I hope they do it in my message cause they are wasting there time and I don't want to learn. I hate that too.

And it is about the same as brokenman list.

I agree with all the posts. IMHO... it would likely also be useful if the mods would
also liaison using PM with both parties (or themselves if they are a party) to a problem to avoid the "appearance" of favoritism.

When there is controversy most people respond well when approached in private.
I personally find being publicly "called out" (eg. scolded like a child) insulting.

It is nice to have your advice on the topic. The moderators are just trying to do the job when emotions are too high between some of the debaters. We try to intervene as less as possible, hoping that things will clear by itself between the opponents.

It is not at all evident to be able to do it. This is called diplomacy. What is wrong with noticing that the forum rules have been trespassed to help people keep on civilised debate on the forum?

It is "rational" (see... Logic and rationality )...

...to give suggestions (instead of "criticism").
...to ask the magic question ("what do you mean?")
...to use candor (instead of "call out"... eg. PM)
...to be serious (instead of resorting to mockery)
...to notice when ANYONE is violating the rules including those that make and enforce them
(...because there is no diplomatic immunity in a community if it is truly one).

Anything less than this would be highly erroneous and/or extremely questionable at the least.
