Hi there

New to Linux, and have recently installed Porteus.

How do i install new linux with ISO?

I can only find info on booting from iso with grub, nothing seems to work with native boot-manager from porteus.

Can someone help, i would like to install ubuntu based linux, but can't find one that will install from inside linux.

find grub in porteus repo (salix?) and install to disk (be secure, without correct bootloader you can not use your computer) or add grub.exe (grub4dos ) to porteus.cfg

From porteus download unbuntu and burn the CD or DVD. Then start the ubuntu disk. Maybe you should go on the ubuntu forum and read about it over there, especially if you do not want to erase the content of your hard disk drive. You will not find very much more support here, this is the porteus forum. :(

My advice is that you should work with porteus, this is a hell of a distribution. In this case you will have a lot of friendly support. :D

-grubconfig does the job:

-I will come back with the menu.lst entry for ubuntu grub legacy (grubconfig). Grub is a bootloader. But only if you ask for it.
