Thumbs-up for nobleNote

Post#1 by nanZor » 25 Mar 2024, 10:39

Just a quick thumbs up for a simple 2-pane hierarchical qt notetaker: nobleNote

Running LXQT 5.01 (and lxqt PorteuX latest stable too), I picked up nobleNote from pkgs.org and used the Debian binary. Told Porteus to convert to xzm format, and bingo. Beautiful. The data it creates can also be read from your browser too if it came to that. Not too bloated as most note-takers turn into.

The dev's release page on github:

Just mentioned it because it is super handy for copy/paste of forum goodies you may read here. A chance encounter with it on Lubuntu included by default was a surprise too. They put out some nice docs for it too although I haven't tested their keybindings in Porteus:

Very simple html editing like bold, underline, font-change, moving notes to different notebooks, yadda yadda. For me it's a perfect fit for Porteus.

It's my modern replacement for Xpad for us gray-beards out there. :)
That's a UNIX book - cool. -Garth
