The slax kernel is in 01-core.sb To get it , rename 01-core.sb to filesystem.xzm amd your can "extraxt" it with running porteus .

The snake is eating its tail:

I just now read into it (why is the thread not to be found on our forum?) and wonder: is there an attempt at creating a 003-fluxbox.xzm module for Port 5.0?

I do not know how minimal that DE (or more precise a WM) is - but at least it looks okay when going by the screenshots that are on its wikipedia entry on Fluxbox

This is what I found via https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Fluxbox+site% ... org&ia=web

Extra minimal. ready to add your preferred apps
basicaly fluxbox with conky

[32 bit stuff removed]

Download 64bit - https://app.box.com/s/6kf6hap0qe1rcfm1xh2z 8.6mb updated april 28 2015

sources and build instructions- https://github.com/ncmprhnsbl/fluxbox currently NOTup to date
is 7+ years old.

Has anyone tried creating a recent fluxbox for Port 5 x86-64?

It could be interesting for people who need temporarily a more resources friendly WM for running some planned heavy on CPU and GPU tasks instead of the usual DE.

Also, maybe interesting for i586 systems due to the restrictions of these systems (CPU much more restricted when it comes to real multitasking than any x 86-64 capable system)
Cheers!

I think this mix from first post may not work with current Ubuntu or requires much more tricks. Furthermore the size of every K-, L-, X-... ubuntu.iso/filesystem.squashfs is disadvantageous.
You have mind and feelings. Be wise and clever.

I think i refrain from experimenting on ubun2porteus then and leave that to others :D

… if anyone is still willing doing so. After considering your above words carefully .
