PorteuX 0.4 has been released

Windows doesn't see ext4 and said the fat32 is fine. Seems Clonezilla had an issue with both partitions. Mainly just wondered if anyone else had that issue...

@Kulle, but that's PorteuX 0.3 not 0.4, right? At least that's what the kernel version is saying in your xorg log. We need the xorg log of the version that is failing to load.

I have now made a replacement (using Isomaster) in the ISO
000-kernel-6.3.3.xzm replaced by 000-kernel-6.2.11.xzm
Now the iso works

Conclusion:
the new kernel does not work.

new kernel 6.3.3 ==> stopped with Xorg failed to start up - ...

I got that. What I'm trying to say is that in order to understand what's happening we need the xorg log of the original 0.4 ISO.

Take a look at the kernel version in your log: 6.2.11. That's not PorteuX 0.4 which is shipped with kernel 6.3.3

@porteux,
That's mystical
in the base folder was 000-kernel-6.3.3.xzm
But in the log:
[ 58.575] Current Operating System: Linux porteux.example.net 6.2.11

I do not understand the world anymore
I will investigate further. There must be a reason

What's in your /porteux/base folder Kulle?? Installing 0.4 on top of the 0.3 folders will result in multiple kernels and the lowest number one loads.

Errors again:
1. Has anyone tested this on real hardware?
When I boot, it gives out network problems and the file manager does not work, and so on. Maybe the modules are crooked.

2. Loading again does not work correctly as in this case СОФТ и инструкции для Porteus-5.x (Post by SaintAnd #93772)

How to specify the cheat code from if my directory is not in the root? Portus has no problem with this.

@SaintAnd, regarding issue 2, could you try this initrd and let me know if it fixes your issue?

Regarding issue 1 I'm afraid we need more details. Are you trying in AF with no cheatcode? Is there any proper error you can show us?

If the boot cmdline is:

Code: Select all

from=/dev/sda2/port/porteux
it won't boot on my machine

If the cmdline is:

Code: Select all

from=/dev/sda2/port
it boots fine.

Thank you, I remeasured ram usage using this command.
Three times after booting, one time after connecting to wifi, firefox started, youtube main page opened.
I would recommend lxqt for low-end pcs, and kde5 for high-end.

Is there a working version of this tool Simple brightness control tool.? The tool is broken but activating it allows me to control brightness using sudo xbacklight -set command on gnome kde lxde lxqt. On mate xfce I have no other choice but manipulate gamma using xrandr.
