Is it possible to upgrade mesa to 21.3.4 (Current)?

What packages need updating?

I know one of the packages that must be updated is llvm, what should be removed from the llvm package to make it as small as possible.

Thanks.

hard to say exactly.. possibly the whole x11/xorg-server stack... looking at arch's web interface for packages can sometimes be helpful to track deps to some degree..

remove everything except: /usr/lib64/LLVMgold.so and /usr/lib64/libLLVM*.so* glob
you'll also need libvulkan.so* from the vulkan-sdk package, so same as above, remove everything but that lib ..

Instead of upgrading the mesa to Slackware 15.0 (21.3.5) it's better to build the latest mesa.

Code: Select all

$ inxi -G
Graphics:  Device-1: Intel driver: i915 v: kernel
           Display: x11 server: X.org 1.20.11 driver: modesetting unloaded: fbdev,vesa
           resolution: 1920x1080@60hz
           OpenGL: renderer: Mesa Intel UHD Graphics (TGL GT2) v: 4.6 Mesa 22.0.2
