Antidote on porteus linux: some fine tuning

Post#1 by francois » 10 Jan 2021, 01:33

As the guy says:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=254752
Antidote is a powerful English and French corrector, which does not work "out of the box" on arch linux, but also on porteus.

All that would be missing is the equivalent of systemd for:

Code: Select all

mkdir /etc/dbus-1 && mkdir /etc/dbus-1/system.d
What I realize is that arch linux is systemd, whereas slackware is not. Nemesis is based on artix which support openrc.

Would it be complicated to have antidote work on porteus?

Antidote on porteus linux: some fine tuning

i think you'll find that porteus already has /etc/dbus-1/system.d directory (which btw has nothing to do with systemd)
so that part should not be a problem..
whether it woud be complicated is hard to say.. since it's propriety software, and their documentation is a bit vague .. seems be to all about integrating it with other software (office,browsers, email clients etc..) https://www.antidote.info/en/antidote-1 ... lity/linux
and they give no indication about what libraries or other dependencies are required..

I will try and come back. Even under arch linux, it is not evident. I know though that antidote is completely compatible with ubuntu, debian and arch linux systemd systems.
Antidote is a Quebec enterprise. :D
Thanks to both of you.
