Thank you beny. So I don't copy it to /lib/firmware/intel/?

I currently have a couple of .sfi modules:

Code: Select all

root@porteus:/home/guest# ls -oh /lib/firmware/intel
total 1.2M
-rw-r--r-- 1 root 18 Jun 24 2022 ibt-11-5.ddc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root 574K Jun 24 2022 ibt-11-5.sfi
-rw-r--r-- 1 root 14 Jun 24 2022 ibt-12-16.ddc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root 571K Jun 24 2022 ibt-12-16.sfi
root@porteus:/home/guest#
and they seem to have matching .ddc files. I suspect I need an ibt-19-0-4.ddc file also.

Hi all,
I am using Porteus 5.0 Xfce
I also want to use Bluetooth.
As I read here: the setup seems complicated?
I don't have Bluetooth installed yet.

Code: Select all

root@porteus:/home/guest# lspci | grep Bluetooth
root@porteus:/home/guest# lspci | grep bluetooth
root@porteus:/home/guest#
What do I have to do?
I need step by step instructions for beginners.
Thanks

hi roro this is my network part of the inxi report:
Network:
Device-1: Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet
driver: r8169
IF: eth1 state: up speed: 100 Mbps duplex: full mac: d0:50:99:65:4e:d1
Device-2: Realtek RTL88x2bu [AC1200 Techkey] type: USB driver: rtl88x2bu
IF: wlan0 state: dormant mac: 66:e9:e0:32:42:3a
Bluetooth:
Device-1: Cambridge Silicon Radio Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode) type: USB
driver: btusb
Report: hciconfig ID: hci0 rfk-id: 0 state: down bt-service: not found
rfk-block: hardware: no software: no address: 00:1A:7D:DA:71:0D
you are shure that the notebook have the bluetooth card or so, also rfkill in terminal show you if the bluetooth device is blocked by software also the wifi too, see if you have a key that allow the power at bluetooth,a lot of notebook have one of this switch key. and last one start as root the daemon with this in terminal sh '/etc/rc.d/rc.bluetooth' start

Hi beny,
No success

Code: Select all

root@porteus:/home/guest# rfkill
ID TYPE DEVICE SOFT HARD
 0 bluetooth hci0 unblocked unblocked
 1 wlan phy0 unblocked unblocked
root@porteus:/home/guest# /etc/rc.d/rc.bluetooth
bash: /etc/rc.d/rc.bluetooth: Permission denied
root@porteus:/home/guest#
"root" and " Permission denied" Why?

" Permission denied"
I therefore did the following:

Code: Select all

root@porteus:/etc/rc.d# chmod +x rc.bluetooth
root@porteus:/etc/rc.d# ./rc.bluetooth start
Starting Bluetooth services: bluetoothd hciconfig sdptool hciattach
No Bluetooth icon appears on the screen
And how now ?
What else do I have to do?

hi roro ,all the scripts into the /etc/rc.d directory, you have to start with sh /etc/rc.d/rc.bluetooth start or restart or stop the rc.d directory is the core of porteus or slackware "the house of daemons"
but if you have the icon click on and try to connect with your device click left you have the bluetooth window click right you have an index of command, remember that you have also the bluetoothctl on terminal that help a lot,i suggest to open another terminal with the bluetoothctl help just for a list of command...we have a lot of...
