Porteus 4 Cinnamon boot problem

I'm trying to run the Porteus-CINNAMON-v4.0-i586.iso on my old Windows 7 machine and was excited when it started. :Yahoo!: But then...

It boots, the screen goes blank for about 10 seconds, then the mouse pointer appears, I am able to move it around the screen for about 10 seconds then it disappears, then after about 10 seconds the Cinnamon wallpaper appears, but only the wallpaper, no bottom panel, no apps. And the system stays like this forever.

I tried alt+F1 and got nothing. alt+prtscr+b boots the system.

My boot menu.

Code: Select all

title 08. Porteus 4.0 AF\n\a Disregard any missing cfg warning.
find --set-root /Porteus/Porteus-CINNAMON-v4.0-i586.iso
map --heads=0 --sectors-per-track=0 /Porteus/Porteus-CINNAMON-v4.0-i586.iso (0xff)
map --hook
root (0xff)
kernel /boot/syslinux/vmlinuz from=/Porteus/Porteus-CINNAMON-v4.0-i586.iso volume=40
initrd /boot/syslinux/initrd.xz

Thank you dZ0TFR but that is difficult to do in an ISO.

Also the machine has 2 GB of RAM so it's not a swap file issue. :D And this ISO is the same one that booted on the other machine that needed the swap file.
