porteus kernel on ubuntu system, an easy task?

Post#1 by francois » 13 Oct 2017, 22:27

For those of you kernel junkies or kernel informed users: would it be possible to install the porteus kernel on the ubuntu distribution to speedup the animal? More peculiarly I would be interested in a EOS (unbuntu based) /porteus (kernel) hybrid.

Thanks.

This threads seems to say that it would be possible, but it is about a specific computer from arch to ubuntu:

porteus kernel on ubuntu system, an easy task?

@bogomips:
I thought that the porteus kernel on ubuntu would improve speed. But I realize that booting takes 7 seconds and shutdown about 11 seconds. The exercice seems to be futile.

@beny:
Nemesis is such an hybrid. Isn't it? There seems to be no threads on the subject.
