Best way to get encrypted swap

Post#1 by simonb » 05 Feb 2017, 12:59

I've set up Porteus to use an encrypted changes file using the Porteus File Save Manager. I would also like encrypted swap file or partition.

Is there an easy or recommended way to do this?

I tried creating a swap file within the encrypted "changes" space but swapon fails with "input/output error". It seems, from what I can tell, that this is a known problem with aufs mounts.

I also tried creating an encrypted swap partition and mounted it via crypttab. However Porteus doesn't seem to read crypttab on boot so nothing appears under /dev/mapper/.
