HP printer paused and doesn't print [Solved]

My HP Officejet is attached to the router and has a local IP address. It shows Ready in it's HP Officejet Pro 8600 webpage in my Firefox browser, and as Paused in the Printers - CUP 2.4.2 webpage. When I attempt to print a file with Xviewer the Print window shows the printer as Paused, I click on the Print windows' Print button and the Document Print Status window shows the job on the printer as Pending. The Jobs - CUPS window shows the job as "pending since" with options to Hold, Cancel or Move.

But nothing prints. If I reboot to Windows the file prints.

I don't print that often and this problem has happened earlier but I didn't follow thru on it then once I got the file printed. I'm wondering if the problem has existed since I upgraded to Porteus 5.0.

the pyqt5 package is on slackware 15 /l
i don't ask you to run this on windows is too simple and you need a report on linux so you have to check hplip deps to run

Printer problems in Porteus 5.0 Xfce [Solved]

Open Porteus Settings Centre (password toor) > hit on Porteus Updater - get updates and reboot your system.
Check print from Mousepad or any website. I have checked and all works fine.

After latest updates for Porteus 5.0 try to boot up in Always Fresh Mode and print picture.

So, if I boot to Porteus without my mychanges.xzm file or my save.dat file I can print with my 07-printing module. The problem is my saved changes. I tried this approach but it didn't work.

I tried moving the 07-printing module to my Optional folder, booting without it, rerunning the script to remove the files in my save.dat file then activating the 07-printing module and that was an even worst scenario.

Somewhere in my save.dat file something is causing my printer to be "paused". And when I use my mychanges.xzm module rather than my save.dat file I have the same problem. The printer changes files that I backup to my changes module are:

Xviewer works, it displays an image and the Print option to the HP Printer shows the printer's status as Paused.

New releases of hplip require avahi
Pat does not seem inclined to add avahi in Slackware
So, the best solution is to install avahi (e.g. from SBo) and to compile hplip by yourself

In that the printer works without my changes, save.dat or xzm module, I don't think the 07-printer module needs to be recompiled. I think my problem is due to a changed file or files that needs to be replaced or deleted.
