[Help] How can you "Run from Ram" but also load the config [Solved]

Post#1 by mcabel » 04 Dec 2022, 03:53

When I click Load from ram, none of my settings load upon boot, aside from the apps in modules folder. How can I run from ram while also load my settings, changes and preferences?

Does your Load from Ram option include the changes= cheatcode like your other menu option?

Another option that works, copy your changes save.dat file to save.dat.xzm and move it to your modules folder. :)

Thanks!
Editing /mnt/sda1/boot/syslinux/porteus.cfg by adding "change= <datfile directory> copy2ram" cheatcode solved it :D

A naive user can understand how to do it fully only if someone makes a youtube video for it and show it step by step. Even I am trying to do it since long time, but I could not do it. Porteus is amazing OS with lots of potential and with these small steps once understood by naive users it can last long once we get to do what we want to do with this OS. Thank everyone for this amazing OS. Looking forward to becoming familiar to this OS.
