You would not suggest following rych's approach?

See below:

Is there a TeXLive or LaTeX module creation script for Porteus?
Almost. There is the official install-tl script which based on your answers will download and install a (portable, minimal, etc.) TeXLive on your system, and I recommend a portable installation into a new folder. Then you just turn that folder into either .xzm (a squashfs module).
At least to me that approach sounds appealing. :good:
Cheers!
