Does anyone know a hack that disables the display of the swap partition as icon on the XFCE desktop and as device entry in the listing of thunar?
It cannot be mounted anyway. Above the screenshot what happens when you try mounting the device on the destkop, with the desktop icon.
Below the listing in Thunar with the context menu option of "mount" - which results in the same error as displayed above the yellow line.

Cheers!

For Thunar:
right click on Devices and uncheck device that You don't like

From desktop:
Settings/Desktop/Icons (on the bottom) uncheck File System.

Thanks Boxypanca.
Anyhow, I formatted the last NTFS partition that was there from the years defunct sm-Witless-7 into ext3 (I had to reboot first since some of my modules got linked from sda4 to sda1 ) … but now that only ext3 or ext4 partitions make up sda… the annoying swap partition ino longer visible by itself.
I dunno if that is because there is no longer not a single internal NTFS partition? That's the only change I did, but without using AcnapyxoB's tips the swap partition of sda6 is no longer displayed, not on the desktop, nor in thunar.
Cheers!
