[HELP] USM and GSLAPT Porteus 5 Cinnamon

Everywhere I read that usm should be available but I cant find it or a package for install. I went to slackware and made an xzm but it says that it only works with slackware 14.1. Is there a way to install usm or nay?

After further searching, I found about gslapt. I installed the module. Thing is, I can only open it through shell. How can I make it open in the menu instead?

Are there other (gui) package managers? Is there anything I can add tomake gslapt show more packages?

Should I click install or "download package only" then convert it to module?

Download the current module, 10/30, copy it to your /modules folder, activate it, run getmod -u then download the module you want.

And no this isn't a gui app.

I had installed this one from this post gslapt 0.5.9, which is a gui app.

If it's working for you, no. If it's not, then apparently yes.

The USM replacement uses slapt-get and getmod.

it does seem to work, as I was able to install Redshift with it, but there is no shortcut for gslapt on my applications menu. I have to open gslapt with Terminal (which opens the gui, but it's odd that it's the only app I have installed so far that shows no shortcut).

mcabel glapt-get is not the porteus package manager, you have to install the babam package and use getmod -u to refresh database and getmod -m to make download and build porteus packages.

You need to read the links people post.

If you copy the /usr/share/applications/gslapt.desktop file to your /home/guest/desktop folder you can have the app on your desktop. No menu needed.
