@M. Eerie,
You was right about your script and 001-core because ncmprhnsbl and his built on dated on 2021-07-14 and 2021-10-06 had your problem your script cause with 001-core but the build dated on 2021-03-16 had no problem so that means your script wasn't used on 001-core.
My problem with Mate with programs not working when WiFi is turn on but if you hit Ctrl-Alt-F4 then it fixed go back to build dated 2021-03-16 so that problem has been there for a long time. And I use LXDE on the testing to be sure it wasn't my Mate.
I did a lot of testing on Nemesis LXDE tonight. And I used kernel 5.15.0 on all the test.

I just like Slackware because I think it teach you about Linux to build packages where Ubuntu is like Windows you just install programs you want.

To get Nemesis to work at 100% I had to go back to date 2020-10-11 here the ISO I check.to get root with password toor and guest with password guest. And you don't need to hit Ctrl-Alt-F4 to get programs to work when you turn on WiFi first.

I now need to update the modules on the ISO I tested. At lease it wasn't my Mate I couldn't get it to work at this time it missing a module to work.

NEW: isos, modules 2021
base modules updated: 2021-11-29
notes: icu and related programs updated
/usr/local/sbin/upbase renamed update-base and updated to the latest version by M.Eerie
pman further tweaked to handle some default settings for firefox(eg. telemetry off, compact tabs available, porteus forum homepage.. etc)
reminder: use the alias "pmod" to make modules, so as to avoid installing to the live system (eg. pmod <packagename>)
didn't get a chance to update the ISOs, need to compile a new kernel, ..will do if i get a chance, otherwise, next time..

pmod is a must. Thanks for it.ncmprhnsbl wrote: ↑01 Dec 2021, 03:03reminder: use the alias "pmod" to make modules, so as to avoid installing to the live system (eg. pmod <packagename>)
After downloading and checking the md5sum, I've found that scripts under /usr/local/sbin seems to be binaries/corrupted.
Does it only happen to me?

What module is pmod in?
I built ncmprhnsbl latest build but when it boot up I get a black screen I can't get pass it. I try about 10 times.
@M. Eerie
Can you let me know when you get update-base finish? So I can update 05-devel.

are you trying to look at them as guest? because i set their permissions at rwx----- (700) ie. only the owner(root) can read/write/execute them ... doing: # chmod 755 <target> should allow guest access.
why did i do this? no real reason, i just thought since they're only in roots PATH, nobody else needs access to them..
pmod is a bash alias: pmod=/usr/local/bin/pman -Sw
it's set in 001-core/etc/bash/bashrc.d/porteus.bashrc
there's also: "psearch=pacman -Ss " just for convenience..

Ah, I see. Didn't check that.
I will
Will look into it. Would it be valid if I include a 5.15 series one?ncmprhnsbl wrote: ↑01 Dec 2021, 03:03didn't get a chance to update the ISOs, need to compile a new kernel

ncmp,
setup-pman and pman -S <package> commands continue, as before?when will one use 'pmod' in terminal.
Eerie,
Very long ago, I tested your upbase script as requested. Failed as I have only 4GB memory. What is the minimum memory required as you are updating the whole filesystem, first, before unpacking and updating base modules?
neko has a script which updates a whole ISO, in a pre-selected work area and he could release any number of ISOs in a jiffy. A 16/32GB usb disk is sufficient.
Is such a thing workable for nemisis.

setup-pman remains the same
and pman -S <package> both installs to the live system(and changes folder) and makes a module, which seems kinda pointless and can create confusion ..so
i recommend using pman -Sw <package> (or the alias: pmod <package>) to avoid doing both.
if you actually want to install to the live system(and changes) simply using pacman -S makes more sense to me. (i also don't recommend this).

My old HP with 6 Gb RAM updates without problems, but I'm pretty sure 4Gb should be fine, provided you boot with base_only (i.e. no other modules loaded in memory). Should you run out of memory, just try to make some room by moving already updated modules into USB storage.
Note this is not intended to generate ISO's, but to automate (and perhaps remaster) the update of standard Nemesis base modules.

ncmp,
When you 'activate' the module copied by 'pmod', same thing happens. (Added to live system and changes in the memory.)
In fact, 'pmod' shall have a line to 'activate' after copying, since an User may like to use that application immediately.
Since I never use changes cheat code, not aware of any complications that may arise.
Eerie..

Eerie..
I referred to "ISO", because of that statement. May be that can be a future project.i.e updateISO.shdidn't get a chance to update the ISOs, need to compile a new kernel, ..will do if i get a chance, otherwise, next time..
