Tried once. 'unexpected end to file vmlinuz' error with 5.12.18

Replaced with old kernel. Booted perfectly. Bottom 1inch in my screen is blacked out. so no access to menu or icons. changed lxpanel global setting for edge to top ( used Documens icon). Old chromium browser and gimp work in this offer. more tests later.

where is rych?

is that from the ISO or downloaded from the folder? .. does the md5sum match?

can't reproduce on a clean lxde install .. there is a message about "pre-4.2 database detected - upgrading" .. but that doesn't present a problem..
might need some more info on your setup.. is this a fresh install or an upgrade(with /changes?)?

yeah, it looks like Aporteus devel has it's own pacman and related conf files that are incompatible with nemesis(which favours artix repos over arch) .. so if you really must try to use it, strip out pacman, /etc/pacman.conf and anything vaguely pacman related..
...the other thing to look for in any extra modules not made with nemesis is: /var/lib/pacman/local/ALPM_DB_VERSION which i'm pretty sure generates that 'database version mismatch' message. remove that too if you find it..

Hi @ncmprlhnsbl

It seems like tracker3 is a new gtk3 dependency. GUI module destination, maybe?

Also, I've tested again my script to update base modules and seems it works now without the sudo account issue. :)

Have your latest changes fixed anything about it?

yeah ... <grumble..more gnome junk..grumble..> :D ..it actually enables file tagging(among other things) in gtk3, if i understand correctly.. (interestingly, slackware builds both gtk3 and gtk4 without tracker3)
probly just in the 003 modules with gtk3 for now ...at some point i guess i'll drop gtk2 and move gtk3 to 002-gui

I try Nemesis-20210724-LXDE-x86_64.iso and when it boot up I see a lot of errors then after it gets booted the only way to turn off is I have to hit the power button. I thought it was a bad install or bad iso so I redownload it again but the same thing. I will try and fix it if I can.

Thanks
I just like Slackware because I think it teach you about Linux to build packages where Ubuntu is like Windows you just install programs you want.

how are you booting the iso?
as a burned cd or as an iso file or?
at what point in the booting does 'a lot of errors' occur?
before or after the boot menu?
