Why should I download an old ISO (wasting data), when latest base modules are available? If you can upload the init file , I can always boot with the base packages.

I seem to recall someone posting of a way to read files on the 'net without downloading them. Unfortunately I don't remember who or what the command was. :sorry:

there's a little bit more to it than that ie some other files needed...
anyhow here's skeleton of the iso with the needed files/folders (plus some you personally may not need)
skel.zip 5.3 mb

I tried this in the search box:

Code: Select all

Search for keywords: the command to read files on the internet
Search for author: a smart guy
but it didn't help. :(

Moving M. Eerie's raja's demand on: pman -S mupdf to pman does not build module mupdf as it is out of topic on the subject of the base module.
@raja:
I hope the title is appropriate. ;)

ncmprhnsbl,

The concept of a "config" folder, perused during boot is a nice addition. I changed timezone from australia and is refelected, but I changed login=root, but still booting into 'guest' mode.

Also I added line no 396- touch $wrk/package.out, in pman script. pman works fine. downloads, converts, merges, make xzm module and copy to module directory, and cleans up the work bench. Good work, cheers.

oops.. didn't check that before upload ..no harm done tho..

yeah, this (and other login related cheatcodes) were broken when openrc became the init(in addition to being service manager)(when Artix repos came on line)
the cheatcode relied on lxdm, which has a crashing issue..
at the moment xfce is started using agetty and .bash_profile without any DM
see this this post:
Xfce4 DE module (Post by ncmprhnsbl #61404)
if you want to autologin to root> edit /etc/conf.d/agetty.tty1 > change line 8: agetty_options="--autologin=guest" to root and
copy bash_profile from /home/guest to /root
if you don't want to autologin > comment out line 8 .. X should then start after guest login on console
