these keybinds are stored in /home/guest/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-keyboard-shortcuts.xml

Code: Select all

[guest@porteus ~]$ grep whisker /home/guest/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-keyboard-shortcuts.xml
      <property name="Super_L" type="string" value="xfce4-popup-whiskermenu"/>

Never mind, it is working again.

Yesterday, I've noticed that my boot partition had no name... Then, this morning suddenly reappeared and Whisker Menu behaves normally.

Maybe something related to this:

had to recompile the schemas for xfce4 again(for desktop settings), so if you're using changes you may need to do this:

# glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas
There has to be something buggy whitin my settings.

I'm tempted to migrate to Openbox with tint2+jgmenu+rofi as semantic launcher. Then the newer XFCE 4.14, provides for a cool implementation like evergreen has shown in Ignis.

Thanks!

note: arch is transitioning to zstd for it's packages ie. *.pkg.tar.xz will become *.pkg.tar.zst over time
it's possible this may break some scripts (pman, arc2xzm, pkg2xzm...) .. i have yet to check and fix..

Post#130 by neko » 06 Feb 2020, 11:27

(XZM is ZSTD version)
Nemesis 2020-02-02 with kernel 5.5.2

nemesis-xfce-20.02.04-x86_64.iso (486 M)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/rtpb4npio ... x86_64.iso
md5sum: 7fe54e62228bcb883cdcc841be4ecbc7 nemesis-xfce-20.02.04-x86_64.iso

1. ISO Base was built with the skeleton & modules
were gotten from 2020 Updated Nemesis Base Modules

2. boot/syslinux/vmlinuz and porteus/base/000-kernel.xzm
were replaced with "kernel 5.5.2".

Please refer to Porteus Kernel Builder

3. Additional modules
[ISO@porteus/modules/004-google-chrome-80.0.3987.87-1-x86_64-1DUOWif.xzm]
was created by "mkgoogle-chrome" command.

[ISO@porteus/modules/004-libxss-1.2.3-x86_64-2.xzm]
004-libxss-1.2.3-x86_64-2.xzm includes the google-chrome dependency libraries (libXss.so libXss.so.1 libXss.so.1.0.0).

Note:
libxss-1.2.3-x86_64-2 was obtained by APorteus tool, not pacman.
Therefor this libxss-1.2.3-x86_64-2 is out of the control of pacman.
If pacman will be used, delete (deactivate) this libxss-1.2.3-x86_64-2 and obtain one by packman.

[ISO@porteus/optional/06-crippled_sources-5.5.2-64bit.xzm]
Kernel header (crippled_sources) for ISO installation into virtual environment is included in ISO.

Thanks.

thanks neko ! have updated the link in the first post
note:some of the module tools included(dir2xzm,arc2xzm,pkg2xzm) will still output xz compressed modules.. the decompression(xzm2dir) and loop(de/activate,mloop) are compression agnostic.

@ ncmprhnsbl

I receive a or some kind of error when I downloaded 001-core-20200204.xzm it might be OK but I wanted to let you know.
I just like Slackware because I think it teach you about Linux to build packages where Ubuntu is like Windows you just install programs you want.
