new pacman has deprecated the --root option(replaced by --sysroot which works differently)
this has implications for various scripts(pman, pkg2xzm ..)
good news is: --root option still works for now tho i've yet to figure out how to use the --sysroot option successfully(or use an another approach)
also, the new pacman brings a new libalpm which breaks pacaur(which is apparently abandoned) so will probly need to look at a different aur helper..

do not work neko, i think you have to put in the init3 option, no one option do the trick, boot impossible so we have an infinite loop in all boot option, btw, i am a bit rusted...

2018 Updated Nemesis Base Modules

Post#37 by ncmprhnsbl » 20 Jun 2018, 04:37

hi beny,
what's your video card/driver?
i don't think init3 cheatcode will work, because xfce autologin is done using openrc via /etc/conf.d/agetty.tty1 and ~/.bash_profile (in the xfce module)
see: Starting a DM with openrc (Post by ncmprhnsbl #58946)
one way around this might be to make module with /home/guest/.bash_profile (blank or suitably edited) and load it at boot..
this would at least get text mode to enable some xorg debugging..
EDIT: actually, even easier, would be to:
boot with cheatcode noload=003-xfce
login to root and startx, if it works, openbox will load(since it's present in gui).. if not, xorg log should give some clue..

2018 Updated Nemesis Base Modules

I just downloaded 000-kernel, 001-core, 002-gui, 002-xtra, 003-xfce4 and 005-devel plus porteus-nemesis-v3.5-lxde-x86_64.iso but I delete 003-lxde, 003-lxdextra and 003-shared. When it booted up it was some what slow but it did boot up. After a few days I will work on a new Desktop (Mate) if I can. You are doing a great job ncmprhnsbl just keep it up.
I just like Slackware because I think it teach you about Linux to build packages where Ubuntu is like Windows you just install programs you want.
