well,i have trouble with the porteus config despite the noload=xfce4 i have always the boot into xfce4,also in txt mode,i can't modify the xinitrc to add the plasma environment,so now i have on the top xfce4 running, and on the bottom plasma running too, btw i run the /usr/bin/startkde,all this without changes, and i can choose what i have to run,is a bit funny, maybe the boot level is hardcoded into the modules, but i can't boot in text mode alias init 3.

ncmprhnsb.. Kernel-4.19.8 - config missed out on support for 'touchpad' , based on i2c bus, drivers for MFD/intel *.* not available.

neko, when you make one for 4.20, pl upload kernel and 000-kernel modules, separately. (apart from ISO)
Linux Kernel-4.4.272 -32 bit; Linux Kernel-5.4.185 - 64 bit

@Rava
I will update the kernel of Nemesis when 4.20 got finalized.
If I forget, please tell me.
(Sometimes I forget something to do because stupid old head)
Same here (I refer to the old head part), but I think it won't happen that someone reminds me to remind you. :D But only when 4.20 got finalized.
Cheers!

yeah, it seems some cheatcodes don't work in the config(folder)
noload= works for me in /boot/syslinux/porteus.cfg or via tab at bootscreen
i suspect that init 3 alias is not implemented

Is there anything different with nemesys of do I install it like any other Porteus live linux?
e.g. kernel, initrd, root folder setup for base.
Cheers!

hi rava, the start of this is a francois post that not run okular into an xfce4 environment,so the plasma desktop is just for fun, thanks to all involved into the nemesis project, but i have slackware and arch full install into a removable media so i use only this media in all the hardware that i have, nemesis and slax also have a part in this... and yes the plasma and kde environment :attica-5.53.0-1-x86_64.bundle.xzm plasma-framework-5.53.0-1-x86_64.bundle.xzm knotifyconfig-5.53.0-1-x86_64.bundle.xzm kcmutils-5.53.0-1-x86_64.bundle.xzm gtk3-3.24.2+7+g43aeb52b73-1-x86_64.bundle.xzm a lot of software not for a server downloads.

Do you have a link to that francois post ? I looked into the first posts of this thread but did not find it.

Nemesis 2019-01-21 with kernel 4.20.3

nemesis-xfce-19.01.21-k4.20.3-x86_64.iso (401 M)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/0hxvpfmpf ... x86_64.iso
md5sum: e4e4e4e0f8f291b366762c379513137b nemesis-xfce-19.01.21-k4.20.3-x86_64.iso

1. ISO Base was built with the skeleton & modules
were gotten from 2019 Updated Nemesis Base Modules (Post by ncmprhnsbl #61949)

2. boot/syslinux/vmlinuz and porteus/base/000-kernel.xzm
were replaced with "kernel 4.20.3".

Please refer to Re: Porteus Kernel Builder (Post by neko #68855)

3. Additional modules
[ISO@porteus/modules/004-google-chrome-71.0.3578.98-1-x86_64-1DUOWif.xzm]
004-google-chrome-71.0.3578.98-1-x86_64-1DUOWif.xzm was created by "mkgoogle-chrome" command.

[ISO@porteus/modules/libxss-1.2.3-x86_64-1.xzm]
libxss-1.2.3-x86_64-1.xzm includes the google-chrome dependency libraries (libXss.so libXss.so.1 libXss.so.1.0.0).

Note:
libxss-1.2.3-x86_64-1 was obtained by APorteus tool, not pacman.
Therefor this libxss-1.2.3-x86_64-1 is out of the control of pacman.
If pacman will be used, delete (deactivate) this libxss-1.2.3-x86_64-1 and obtain one by packman.

[ISO@porteus/optional/06-crippled_sources-4.20.3-64bit.xzm]
Kernel header (crippled_sources) for ISO installation into virtual environment is included in ISO.

[ISO@porteus/optional/xfce-root-home.xzm]
Cheatcode "login=root" is not implemented in "nemesis".
If you need to boot nemesis on "root" user, please add cheatcode "load=root".

[ISO@porteus/optional/chrome-root.xzm]
Booting with cheatcode "load=root", this module too will be activated.
If booting "root" user mode, google-chrome cannot be executed.
[4306:4306:1219/230216.381171:ERROR:zygote_host_impl_linux.cc(89)] Running as root without --no-sandbox is not supported. See https://crbug.com/638180.
chrome-root.xzm includes the patch that executes google-chrome with "--no-sandbox".

[ISO@porteus/optional/001-livaWIFI.xzm]
Patch for Wifi LAN Card "Broadcom BCM43241". <for LIVA PC (LIVA-C0-2G-32G) wifi interface>

[ISO@porteus/optional/004-glmark2-amd64.xzm]
Benchmark tool.
Refer to Benchmark tool "glmark2" (Post by neko #68878)

Result of nemesis-xfce-19.01.21-k4.20.3-x86_64.iso running on my PC.

Code: Select all
