2020 Updated Nemesis Base Modules

Post#136 by Jack » 09 Feb 2020, 01:28

I'm still using Porteus-4.0 Kernel: 4.7.2-porteus and my Mate build. I can't live with out it. It been years for Windows. It is nice to be back. I want to upgrade to Porteus 5.0 but I see it not release yet. At that point I will build a new Mate if I still can do it.
I just like Slackware because I think it teach you about Linux to build packages where Ubuntu is like Windows you just install programs you want.

2020 Updated Nemesis Base Modules

Post#142 by ncmprhnsbl » 12 Mar 2020, 07:22

2020-03-12 .. base modules updated
built from scratch using build scripts adapted from slackware porteus!
no updated package list this time(plenty updated tho) ... just some notes from what i can remember:
core:
added brotli (libsoup dep)
gui:
um..
xtra:
removed openexr (nothing in base needs this, but if stuff like gimp etc breaks, this is probly it)
devel:
removed cower and pacaur
replaced with trizen (for AUR access) and it's perl deps
xfce:
updated paper icon set to the latest git
if you have saved changes you may need to run "glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas"

Hey there, this iso: nemesis-xfce-20.02.04-x86_64.iso does not have boot, [boot] and EFI folders just like other standard iso. I took vmlinuz and skel.zip provided on first post and put all of them together on my flash memory and booted. I passed grub menu and continued to start xfce as standard but it failed.

2020 Updated Nemesis Base Modules

Does pman works for you? I'm having troubles pinging to the router resulting in:
"Please ensure you have a connection and try again. Exit code: 1"
( "is_online" routine )

Also, does pkg2xzm manage new *.zst packages?

P.S.: I'm stuck with the script to automate base modules updating.
Works fine with gui, xtra and xfce modules, but can't get core properly updated due to keyring, gpg, polkit..., whatever.

Thanks.

Cheers!
