[Solved] Updates at new install

Post#1 by junsve » 22 Jun 2020, 10:27

Hi.
Thanks for an excellent product.
When downloading and installing a new ISO will I then get the latest rolling release or am I stuck on the "full release" until there is a new "full release"?

Cheers
Sven

Sven,

You are stuck on the "full release" until there is a new "full release":
https://porteus-kiosk.org/changelog-releases.html

You can get latest kiosk version:
https://porteus-kiosk.org/changelog-aut ... dates.html

only if you subscribe your kiosks to the updates service:
https://porteus-kiosk.org/automatic-updates.html

Thanks

[Solved] Updates at new install

Thanks, I was afraid of that.
I'm thinking to deploy via PXE boot, is there any way to get update to the boot ISO in between the full releases?

/Sven

Updates at new install

Sven,

You could order a customized build which would be created from the latest snapshot from the 'automatic updates' channel.
You could do this at the time you would be installing the kiosk systems.

Thanks
