[Solved] Weird behaviour with USB-Sticks

Post#1 by Flash1976 » 18 Jun 2020, 11:25

Hello all,

we build a PK 5.0.0 .iso for our advertising systems and wrote this to USB-Sticks. Now we have some weird strange behavior of the Software:

Cruzer Blade 32GB - Porteus Kios works fine
MediaRange 16GB - System doesn´start
Kingston DatTraveler100 64GB - System doesn´start

Does anybody notice the same? It´s very strange and we are not able to locate the issue.

Thanks a lot

It´s shows "^ device is not ready yet? delaying 10 seconds". But strange thing is that one Stick work and one doesn´t work.

Will collect more informations if possible.

Error: Kiosk data not found - startup cannot continue.
If you are booting from writablemedie then please make sure that
you have burned the IOS using 'Win32DiskImager' or 'dd' utilities.

If you are booting Kiosk from CD rather than usb drive
then this failure is likely xaused by a corrupted download
or bad burn. Please verify that the MD5 sum of your ISO matched the
MD5 sum for this ISO on our download page, and try burning the CD again.

Weird behaviour with USB-Sticks

I guess you have used 'Win32DiskImager' to create one USB and other soft (incompatible, e.g. Rufus) to create the other 2 USB sticks.

Thanks

We found out that the advertising system (USB Slot) had an issue... So it was not a problem by .ios or PTK 5.0.0

Thanks
