Config adaptation // Most prudent way

Hi everybody,
I am playing around with some config options currently.
What I currently do is each time I want to modify the config, I perform a reinstall of Porteus Kiosk 5.5. There is probably a more prudent and efficient aproach for.
I think "Remote kiosk management" is meant for that. I tried to bring that up on my Synology NAS, but did unfortunately not succeed to host the config file in a manner Porteus could read it.
http-sharing does not work, as Synology redirects the provided link via a small website, which provides the file. Doing so Porteus reads the sourcecode of the website instead of the content of the linked file.
FTP-Sharing is IMHO a scurity risk to activate, isnt it?
Porteus Kiosk Server seems to be a bit overkill to only manage one single device. Do you agree?
Thanks for your advices for the best approach!
Kindest regards,
