WoL over Wifi?

Post#1 by thewiz » 05 Apr 2022, 19:41

WoL over Wifi is apparently supported by modern Intel chipsets:

Can this be made to work on Porteus Kiosk?

WoL over Wifi?

Post#2 by fanthom » 07 Apr 2022, 16:18

"Devices that do support Wireless Wake-on-LAN only support wake from system sleep states S3 or S4."
This is a deal breaker for me.

I also do not have the hardware to test this feature so the answer for now is: no plans for this.

Thanks

WoL over Wifi?

Agreed. Yes, that's a bummer. I guess it's required, since the device needs to be "signed in" to the wifi using its SSID and possible password, anf it would be hard to accomplish from a more "off" state.
