Fulalas,I tried yout LXQt once. I noticed 5 or 10 lines from xorg log showing up during the boot before the desktop loading. Repeated during shutdown with lots of uncleaned up stuff from memory, during shutdown. I noticed similar behaviour wirh XFCE also,

LXDE, I should say is very clean like Porteus 3.1 with XFCE.

Also I noticed 'activate' in the menu list and 'deactivate' was missing, otherwise the menu listing is quite exhaustive.

Hope to see v4.0 LXQt soon.

@raja, what LXQt module are you using (link, please)? Can you reproduce this by booting on Always Fresh mode? Can you give us the full output with all these errors?

Regarding 'activate' and 'deactivate' context menu entries, I'm pretty sure they appear for me. But I can double check if you point me a link to the LXQt module you're using :)

Module:003-lxqt-qt5.9.1-x86_64.xzm

Error messages will be moving very fast, shall try to catch one or two lines.

In XFCE4 ,slim authority file not found error along with Xorg log messages upto pixman version were noticed. During shutdown two pages of errors like parsing error and details of many lines from memory about last run programs, error about a library starting "g",used to get displayed during shutdown;

I thought it was because xfce was doing some memory management by allocating and vacating and was dirty..

In LXDE from jsouza, screen is clean without any errors.

That is why I requested Brokenman, if a logging process for 'error messages' can be done for boot and shutdown, in v4.0.

You can ctrl + alt + f1 after LXQt finishes the booting process, so you can see all the warning/errors and post them here :)

But what I can tell you is that the slim message was already reported. And as far as I know, it's normal. The shutdown warnings were also reported -- and some of them happens because of an old LXQt session bug that was fixed recently.

fulalas, error messages continue in 'Always Fresh' mode too.

entering level 4 follows with,

During boot:slim authority file missing and continues with xorg log upto the line xorg.conf.

During Shutdown: The above message is repeated, a message on nm applet fault, and numerous listing from last run programs, like browser.

XFCE too has the same behaviour in v3.2.2.

I don't see any of this in LXDE. In Porteus v 3.1 XFCE too was clean.

MPV v 0.17 plays video, but v 0.21 or v 0.25 don't.

Fulalas, " Open Terminal Here" in right click menu, will be very useful. Preferences/Screensaver - default shall be "blank screen only", instead of "disable screensaver".

Thank you @neko

Could you say what the function is of the 003-z.lxqt.xzm and the 003-lxqt.xzm modules in the .iso?

Also, the size of the 003-lxqt.xzm module seems to have increased from 29.0MB to 46.7MB - interested to know what has caused such a large increase?

Many thanks
peebee
