I short praise for Porteus:
I started with Porteus 3.2.2 a few weeks ago to give an old thinclient a second life as "surf station".

I ended up with Porteus running on my ThinkPad T510 and even an my desktop machine for daily use.
Windows is not completely gone cause i have not replaced my whole toolset yet (e.g. RAW converter) and i still need it for some games, but since Porteus it is started once in a few days.

You could simply say:
Porteus won the game... :worthy: :magic:

Why i like the module system Porteus uses:
While testing with VirtualBox, trying this and that i messed up my system config. :P  The system tried to build vbox-kernel-modules on every boot although the modules were already there and X wont start anymore.

No hassle, just throw away the changes-folder and reboot --> here you go with a clean system and all software you like to use already "installed". Couldn't be easier... :)

Exactly! Porteus has this testing-proof thing that is very suitable for learners. I'm messing system files very often, but just need to reboot and voilĂ  :)

I have a propensity to break things by trying stuff, so porteus suits me also.
I also don't like to clean up and I don't like browsers tracking me so fresh mode is my choice always.
