Works well and very fast. Straight onto the internet, and looks are good...I tried all 4 flavours, and probably will stick with xfce.
No problems installing, and managed to burn to pendrive with unetbooter (that bit was a pain!)

A few surprises - Im not used to Slackware, though I have experimented a little with Puppy.
Saving the session took a little thinking about. Also I didnt get the 'install new software' program to work for me (though in reality there was no need of new programs -it is all self sufficient from the start

I will probably have questions at some point, but I will experiment a little more - an issue often gets sorted by coming back to it with a fresh mind.

Thanks to the developers Its a little gem

Welcome to Porteus tonyyy. As for USB booting I prefer the Easy2Boot app. But Porteus has apps to do it for you. In the ISO read the USB_INSTALLATION.txt file.
Porteus can be installed to a flash drive or hard drive in several ways.
And it can be done from Windows or another Linux system.

Welcome to porteus tonyyyy. :)

Membership recruitment is very appreciated. Don't hesitate to call for help. Usually, you will find plenty of that on this forum, in addition to a friendly atmosphere.

Thanks

I was thinking that if every Porteus user were to recruit an average of one new user a week , than after a year there would be.... :%) ...well a lot of users  (Any mathematicians here?)

This is a good strategy. Isn't this what is called a pyramidal strategy.

But I imagine, as there is no money involved, it should be OK.

Personally I am trying hard. But not only, you have to recruit, you have to keep them on the forum.
