[Solved] Install certificate

Here you can post about the issues related to modifications performed manually (not through the kiosk wizard). Example: swapped kernel, added 3rd party modules or files.
Please describe in detail what has been changed and hopefully other kiosk user will be able to help.
Porteus team wont resolve bugs posted in this category as we support only modifications made by the kiosk wizard.

[Solved] Install certificate

Post#1 by rh102801 » 09 Jun 2014, 18:53

Good afternoon guys. I have a situation where I am going to need and install a certificate on some of my kiosks so they can have access to certain external site. This certificate is from out Web Proxy (Ironport). When I try to access 1 specific page that the users will be allowed to access from two kiosks, I get an untrusted site message (don't have the exact wording at the moment). I can tell it to go ahead and trusted but the next time there is a reboot we have to go thru the same steps. I found that we need to install a certificate for this to work properly and I ma wondering if it is possible to make the certificate part of the customized ISO I am implementing.

Thanks

simplest way is to fix the certificate so it wont give the warning anymore

if this is not an option then please follow the procedure i posted here (ofc you will have to do different action - add certificate):
http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php? ... 163#p22394
http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php? ... 415#p24321

should work.
Please add [Solved] to your thread title if the solution was found.

As usual Fanthom, excellent response. I ended up not doing this because I did not want to have to redo the kiosks every time the certificate expires, I just resolved the issue with the certificate.

Thanks
