Change mouse cursor?

Post#1 by Dreyfus1 » 05 Jul 2022, 04:45

I want to change the mouse cursor because the white cursor is not clearly visible on the almost white screen. How is it possible to change color or border?

Hello Dreyfus1,

You will need to remaster kiosk ISO and update default cursor theme in 003-settings module in /use/share/pixmaps directory.

Thanks

Hello fanthom,
thanks a lot for your reply. Could you please explain with some few words what files I do have to change? Or please post a link to some documentation.

It's explained on the kiosk page:
http://porteus-kiosk.org/kiosk-customization.html

If you have no Linux experience then you may use commercial builds service:
http://porteus-kiosk.org/builds.html

Thanks

I know how to customize the ISO but I don´t know what files to change inside the pixmaps directory.

Is it really that hard to find?

Code: Select all

/usr/share/pixmaps/win8/cursors

No, I already looked inside this folder but I was not sure if it was the correct one. I´m customizing the ISO on a Windows workstation with WSL. Until now I´m not able to find an editor which could open a file like X_cursor. Which Linux editor to you prefer for editing this cursor files?

GIMP should be sufficient.
