Post#1 by cyrixjames69 » 25 Oct 2020, 08:59

Hello Everyone.
Greeting for the Day!

I am new to Linux platform and i just downloaded the Porteus Mate 5.0 RC1 X64 version OS. its fast and works great. i want a Bluetooth Module so that i can connect my Bluetooth earphones when i try to download it from Module it gets installed but when i searched i cant find it .i want to know is there any Bluetooth module which can be installed and used offline. i like to have it in Proteus Mate only . i installed VLC and it started to show up in Multimedia but when Bluetooth is installed its not showing up. and i would like to know is there any software to build with VLC and Bluetooth module is installed to make a customize ISO.is it possible to install chntpw or any other alternate App to reset the NT passwords in this OS as well. i am sorry for my English ..

Thanks in Advance for reading

Please try the blueman bundle:
http://ftp.riken.jp/Linux/porteus/x86_6 ... t/bundles/

Once installed, if not functional, provide in command line the output of:

Code: Select all

blueman

nope, that's only for the openbox DE module..
you shouldn't need to add anything, blueman and bluez are already present.
what you do need to do is: start the bluetooth daemon, by either: using the "bluetooth" cheatcode at boot (either edit /boot/syslinux/porteus.cfg APPEND line or press tab at the boot screen and add it then)
or via the porteus-settings-centre(in the system menu) > system settings tab> bluetooth settings.

to make a customize ISO
there is a script on the ISO: /porteus/make_iso.sh that can be used for this purpose..

I recommend you use the Porteus Mate 5.0 rc2 x64 version.
Porteus-v5.0rc2 is released (Post by Blaze #78124)

:) .. if you do try RC2, be aware that there is a known problem with bluetooth in this version, see here: Porteus 5.0 RC2 bug reports (Post by ncmprhnsbl #78728)
fairly easy fix though.

I tried to install "blueman" through "slapt-mod", but if I remember correctly, the terminal informed me that it was already in its latest version... the idea was finally to solve the lack of some "pulseaudio" dependency or whatever.

SEMERENDO.cr:

And how did you solved it in terms of these dependencies?

Thanks.

I couldn't fix it, because according to the package manager "blueman" was properly installed... for the moment I haven't "break my head" because I have "Porteux" on the PC.

HOWEVER, I thought that maybe trying to install:
"bluez-firmware", "bluez-alsa"
