Save Search and Launch Activity Settings

Post#1 by jssouza » 09 Jul 2015, 14:31

Hi,

I like KDE's Search and Launch activity and would like to make that my default while logging into KDE. I created a Search and Launch activity in Porteus running on a laptop, and then copied the .config and .kde4 directories from my home directory, unsquashed 0099-settings.xzm module, created a /home/guest path in it, copied these 2 directories and recreated the xzm and the iso. (Probably should have added these in kde.xzm, but the other one was smaller :) )
Now I am able to login directly into Search and Launch, but unfortunately if I run Porteus on another laptop, upon startup KDE says that the audio and display hardwares are not found (of the old laptop). This of course comes every time.

Can you please let me know the minimum files I may need of these 2 directories so that I copy only the Search and Launch settings and not other settings as well?

Thanks.

maybe the problem is the file
/home/guest/.kde4/share/config/phonondevicesrc
delete the file
