Porteus-v5.0rc3 i586 bug reports
Congratulations to Team Porteus, for coming out with rc3 releses for both 32 and 64 bit. Nice and very appealing with pre selected dark mode.
No problem for booting LXDE version-ISO loop mode.
I noticed hick ups where ever 'root' option was required like pcmanFM-root, porteus setting centre etc. But when I added netsurf, midori with additional gtk requirements(gtk web kit), everything seems to be working.
One major difference between porteus and Aporteus 32 bit. MPV plays Full HD videos effortlessly , without droping frames, in APorteus, whereas in porteus, same video crawls, like photos.
MPV default conf for video output is gpu/opengl. I think. Both OS have same Xorg, mesa, ffmpeg, mpv, openchrome video driver versions.
Would love to hear an explantion.
However, porteus plays the same video reasonably well, with vo=xv conf, like in version 4.0 and 3.22.
Since no browsers are in selection build, I made firefox-89.0.2 and netsurf-3.10 and they work.
more later after installation.

@raja, regarding video performance, it might be some incompatibility with video acceleration. What video video card you have? Have you installed any additional video driver?
You can try to open mpv directly from the terminal and see if there's any difference:

It is an old Laptop with VIA P4M900 chipsets.
MPV looks for gpu,openGL.vdpau,xv,x11,vaapi in that order, for video output.
In Porteus, it finds a driver for 'vdpau' and tries to play, resulting in,
Added a mpv.conf file. It is okay. SOLVED
Tried LXde and LXQT. Clean and fairly error free.

In APorteus. it could not find a driver for "vdpau" and uses "xv",Audio/Video desynchronisation detected! Possible reasons include too slow
hardware, temporary CPU spikes, broken drivers, and broken files. Audio
position will not match to the video (see A-V status field).
So, this legacy laptop loves "vo=xv" only.Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_nvidia.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[vo/vdpau] Error when calling vdp_device_create_x11: 1
[vo/xv] Warning: this legacy VO has bad quality and performance, and will in particular result in blurry OSD and subtitles. You should fix your graphics drivers, or not force the xv VO.
Added a mpv.conf file. It is okay. SOLVED
Tried LXde and LXQT. Clean and fairly error free.

Porteus-v5.0rc3 i586 bug reports
fulalas..a special request,
I have been using video driver .openchrome.so.drv ,version -0.3.3 in porteus-3.2.2, written by one Mr Xavier Bachelot. He quit with that version.
Porteus-3.2.2 is giving a wonderful performance for playing videos. Later versions 0.4(failure),0.5, and 0.6 are comparatively ,written by a new developer, are not that good.
Can you please compile this driver v-0.3.3 for the current X-server used in porteus-5.0, 1.20.10, ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 24.1, for me.?
porteus-5.0- xorg.log
source page:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/openchrome ... 9cea402256
driver size was around 355KB
Thanks.
