Hello there! I am a very new user here of Porteus. As you can see, I got some issues downloading databases for me to download some apps. I really don't know what this means as I'm new to Linux. It says...
================================
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
================================
One or more errors occured while usm was running:
FATAL ERROR!
usm update_database 248
Could not decompress: CHECKSUMS.md5.gz
================================
Please help me, what does this mean?
Thank you for reading

One of your USM mirrors is not working. I just ran an update and everything ran ok. Try creating and running the sesm script shown here:
[INFO & SCRIPT] Slackware Mirror Settings for USM

An often reported error is for the slacky repository. But it does not seem to be the case here.

Ed_P, a request...since you are able to update USM (always), please make an xzm module, "usm-data>xzm", and share for all Porteus users, once a month.
Who ever in need of usm latest data, can use your module.
This will put a full stop on "USM" queries. Building new apps may be , another story.
Updates never worked for me.( even with (your/bogomips) scripts.
