Using the Live USB creator was the easiest way I found after trying and failing using many methods described in the documentation and forum Simple USB Flash Installer (Post by neko #44525)

Well neko's app was created 5 yrs ago for Porteus 3.1 and I'm not sure EFI and GPT partitions were a concern back then. Personally I format the USB drive as FAT32, copy all the ISO files to it and run the Porteus-installer app like the USB_INSTALLATION.txt file in the Porteus ISO describes.
