Hello GorraLopez and welcome:
Please report in more details what you have done so that you have not found LIBS.TXT.

People are very helpful on the Porteus forum. We are serious, though we can often have a good laugh. But we do not like to waste our time.

Watch the language. I have modified your title.

Alien's mirror shows updates as of 2019-03-14.

http://bear.alienbase.nl/mirrors/people/alien/sbrepos

But after updating USM and trying to download alien's libreoffice I get the same LIBS.TXT error as you. :(

Someone needs to contact alien.

-update-

It appears the LIBS.TXT file in alien's database is misnamed as FILELIST.TXT. I've written to Eric/alien about the situation and will let you know his response.

"Could not find LIBS.TXT"
This message is a bit misleading, the LIBS.TXT file is in /var/usm/alien/
but the listed version of libreoffice is 6.1.2 not 6.1.4
A correct message would be "could not find libreoffice-6.1.4 in LIBS.TXT"
also this file doesn't come from the repo(s) AFAIK
they came from sourceforge (in the past at least)

A dirty "hack":
replace the version of libreoffice in the LIBS.TXT file and try again.
NOTE: This may not produce a working module because the listed dependencies
might be the wrong ones for this version.

better to wait till the files got updated. ;)

Thank you for finding the LIBS.TXT file donald. Who, how and what updates the files in /var/usm/? The files in the mirror were updated last night at 23:40 approximately. Where does one look for the files in sourceforge?

Thanks donald. I emailed brokenman about the problem and he said "The libs file is generated by our server and uploaded elsewhere" so maybe all the server/forum changes of late have impacted this scenario. :(

The server itself does work - you get a LIBS.TXT file.

It's a timing / sync issue.

Example:
LIBS.TXT updated/generated at 6am > files in repo replaced at 7am > LIBS.TXT incorrect
(doesn't reflect the change in repo) till next sync.

I am curious; where exactly is "elsewhere"?.. :)

I don't know where "elsewhere" is but I do know it's been more than 6 hrs, in fact it's approaching 18 hrs, and the file is still "missing" for alien apps. :wall:

http://bear.alienbase.nl/mirrors/people/alien/sbrepos/ 2019-03-15 16:15

/var/usm/alien

Code: Select all

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 182105 Mar 15 11:22 CHECKSUMS.md5
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 68175 Mar 15 16:39 LIBS.TXT
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 104870 Mar 15 16:39 OPTIFEST
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 160562 Mar 15 16:39 PACKAGES.TXT
Files are getting updated so what is the problem???

Not for the USM GUI. :hammer:

And all USM databases were updated before trying it.
