Can't get Chrome to work.

Post#1 by Lucas » 03 Oct 2018, 22:35

Hi guys,

I don`t know why Chrome isn`t starting at all on my Porteus 4.0. I tried on KDE, LXDE and Mate, I tried Chromium too. The only browser that worked was Firefox. Anyone has any thoughts on this?

Thank you all for the help,

LB.

are you logged in as root? chrome/chromium don't play well with that.. (i think there's a workaround for this mentioned somewhere in the forum)
else, try starting from a terminal and see what the output is...

@Lucas
open a konsole and type "chrome" (without quotes). Whats is the output you get?
Porteus is proud of the FASTEST KDE ever made.....(take akonadi, nepomuk and soprano out and you will have a decent OS).

Actually you should type: google-chrome-stable
into a console. I think you are missing some dependency.
