Weird. :unknown: If I convert the txz to xzm it works flawlessly though: http://www.slackware.com/~alien/slackbu ... 1alien.txz

Sorry, I never use these update scripts.

The goal is to permit updating the browser as soon as it becomes outdated. Which is really an improved featuonre of porteus 3.2. This should provide added security to the distribution.

In any case, if you change your mind or if someone else test update-chromium, we could confirm the bug.

Update-chromium works without a hitch for me on Porteus-MATE-v3.2.2-x86_64.iso.
After activating the /tmp/chromium-56.0.2924.76-x86_64-1jay.xzm module I can run chromium as user "guest" from the menus as well as from an xterm (the latter with some messages).
As the popup says running chromium as root requires the "--no-sandbox" flag -- with previous versions a "--user-data-dir" flag was necessary instead.
:D

Thanks burdi01. This might mean that my save changes file could be corrupted or that I have competing modules.
I will try in always fresh mode.

Sorry, I never use these update scripts.
Please do as it provides income for Porteus when you use the browsers generated by the update scripts. Specifically the duckduckgo default search engine.

I have updated the 64bit browsers on the server.
