KDE 64 Bit
In order to enter GUI, have to run Nvidia 304.131 driver. Possibly as a result of this, upon GUI entry have runaway Baloo process, resulting in slowing down all other processes. Process killed in slow motion, either from console or from Konsole terminal. Kill not always clean, and sometimes some screen process gets clobbered.
Clean kill: guiexec=pkill~baloo_file
Time & Date
Setting time not possible, as does not accept
toor as superuser password.
Update-Chrome
The menu entry does not work. To start up, Chrome needs lots of space on an almost minimal system (880 MiB), and with just Konsole open,
Run (Alt+F2):
/opt/google/chrome/chrome does the trick.
Update-Opera
Module when fixed runs, less demanding than Chrome, and almost viable as a browser on this minimal system. Runs with Flash as well.
Update-Firfox
Launching Firefox just blows the whole system. Presumably due to its ram hungriness.
Opera 32/64 Bit
Code: Select all
Please choose a release from the menu.
Stable is recommended.
1) opera
2) stable
3) beta
4) developer
Not been able to get
2) stable to run. However module made from deb for
1) opera runs just fine on Mate 64 bit, Cinnamon 32/64 bit, and KDE5 64 bit. Not tested on XFCE or remaining architectures.

@ Blaze
-- samba --
It seems to be caused by the patch for CVE-2016-2115
As a workaround this may work:
add to smb.conf, in the [global] section:
client ipc signing = no

donald, this line
at the [global] section of /etc/samba/smb.conf
does not help and a new module with samba-4.4.5-x86_64-1_slack14.2.xzm does not solve this issue - I have the same 255 error with access denied.
Cheers

I THANK YOU FOR RESPONSE. I ANSWER UNDER.

Python is contained in 07-printing; I KNOW , BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT THERE ARE MISSING PACKAGES I ADDED dbus-python-1.2.4-x86_64-1.xzm,mozo-1.15.0-x86_64-1_msb.xzm,notify-python-0.1.1-x86_64-5.xzm,pycairo-1.10.0-x86_64-1.xzm,pycups-1.9.73-x86_64-1.xzm,pygobject3-3.18.2-x86_64-1.xzm,pygobject-2.28.6-x86_64-2.xzm,pygtk-2.24.0-x86_64-2.xzm,python-2.7.11-x86_64-2.xzm,IN MODULES AND ALL SEEMS TO WORK FINE (FOR NOW)
in a console, try "#ldd /usr/bin/alsamixer" to see if you are missing some libraries.
THAT WAS THE FIRST THING I DID ...
root@porteus:/home/guest# ldd /usr/bin/alsamixer | grep found
root@porteus:/home/guest# alsamixer
ALSA lib control.c:843:(snd_ctl_open_conf) Invalid type for CTL default definition
cannot open mixer: Invalid argument
root@porteus:/home/guest#
Pulseaudio is not a substitue of alsamixer...
I KNOW , BUT MUST alsamixer EXISTS AGAIN IF IT DOES'T RUN OR NEED SOME OTHERS DEPENDENCIES ?
Good luck!

Cinnamon 32 Bit
Running update-flash with browser still open, results in deactivate of current flash module being aborted, after which the script presumably deletes libflashplayer.so in plugins directory, with the result that upon activation of new module libflashplayer.so does not show, as most probably whited out. Copying libflashplayer.so from module to plugins directory resolved the issue. No problem with module at next start up of system.

That good to know but I close all programs and run in Always Fresh Mode when I build or run any scripts cause I learn that a long long time ago.
