I have to head overseas in a 5 days. I will try to upload everything in it's current state as rc4 before I go. Not all bugs are fixed but it's the best I could do in this time. I will be away for around 3 weeks and probably won't be doing much in terms of dev for this period of time. Family comes first.

During the three weeks you will be away the update scripts can be put through their paces, and any outstanding issues tackled. This would be easier if the sources of the live scripts used for the updates could be scrutinised. A for instance, being update-opera where the deb has been incompletely transformed: http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php? ... 840#p46840.

Also sources like xwindow.c and related, so that one can check why BACKGROUND is not being set in kde5, for instance http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php? ... ick#p28984.

There is a very light weight browser hvr, which should be able to function nicely in kde5, were it not for BACKGROUND not being set.

Ah ok. The live scripts are located here.
Thanks. If the script is binary you can unpack it like so:

Code: Select all

./update-firefox-live --keep --noexec
Now look in /tmp/ms for the script.

I try "update-wps-office-live" here is the output.

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~/Downloads/porteus-live$ sh update-wps-office-live
Verifying archive integrity... 100% All good.
        Uncompressing Porteus wps-office-updater 100%
        This requires elevated privilege
       guest@porteus:~/Downloads/porteus-live$

I don't know what is "This requires elevated privilege"?
EDIT:
I just try it again but this time I login as "su" and pw toor and it work.
I just like Slackware because I think it teach you about Linux to build packages where Ubuntu is like Windows you just install programs you want.
