AMD R9 290X = kernel panic
Posted: 04 Feb 2015, 12:38
Hi , i try to test the lates porteus today , and i got a kernel panic on start.
Porteus version = latest kiosk edition
The card is a gygabyte windforce r9 290X
Her some info
lspci | grep -i vga -->> 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: AMD/ATI [Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.] Device 67b0
xorg.0.log not too info
and the nice at the lastest files syslog
I can run mode text , but when startx then kernel panic
I test other kernels , including 3.19-rc7 and nothing
I test slackware-current full install and nothing
The only one linux at the moment can start is ubuntu vivid.
Bad kernel config?
Need a xorg update?
A kernel patch?
Sorry for my bad english

I can run mode text , but when startx then kernel panic
I test other kernels , including 3.19-rc7 and nothing
I test slackware-current full install and nothing
The only one linux at the moment can start is ubuntu vivid.
Bad kernel config?
Need a xorg update?
A kernel patch?
Sorry for my bad english
