Hi,

I have trouble with "Porteus password" pop up window: it does not accept the root password, while in command line there isn't any problem.
What can the problem be?

I mean gksu, because I use MATE. The window wants me to give the ROOT password and when I give the right root password, I get the following message: Permission denied, try again.
Oh, now it comes to my mind, the cause could be that I'm not in the sudoers file (you know, I added a new user beside the default guest).
That was the solution.

Thanks.

Another problem related root privilege: the desktop file for GParted contans the gnsudo for Exec, but gnsudo doesn't exist in the system, only gnsu.

Thanks. Regardless of the Exec=gnsudo in the desktop file, does the gparted GUI open ok?

Yes, it does.
